Please join the Martin Center for our Fourth Annual Policy Banquet. We are honored to welcome Dr. Larry P. Arnn, President of Hillsdale College, as our keynote speaker in 2019. His talk is titled "Hillsdale: What College Is Meant To Be." Hillsdale College holds a unique position among our nation's colleges. It serves as a model of classical liberal arts curriculum and is one of just a few universities in the country that do not accept federal student aid. The policy banquet will be held at the Carolina Country Club in Raleigh. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6pm until 6:30pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm.
Dr. Larry Arnn is the twelfth president of Hillsdale College, where he is also a professor of politics and history. He studied at Worcester College, Oxford University, where he served as director of research for Sir Martin Gilbert, the official biographer of Winston Churchill. Arnn later authored his own book on Churchill, Churchill’s Trial: Winston Churchill and the Salvation of Free Government. Arnn is the also the author of Liberty and Learning: The Evolution of American Education." Arnn was the founding chairman of the California Civil Rights Initiative, which prohibited racial preferences in state hiring, contracting, and admissions. In recognition of Arnn's decades of scholarship and leadership, the Bradley Foundation awarded him the Bradley Prize in 2015.
